Succulent-Topped Birdhouses

Cindy Davison’s love of birds led her to create a wildlife habitat in her garden as well as to create spectacular succulent-topped birdhouses.

She starts with a pre-made birdhouse like these, sands them, paints them and affixes succulent cuttings and moss to the roof. On this house, she went all in on using Echeveria cuttings — such a sumptuous look! I love her use of curly willow here that adds such artistry. And of course, an echeveria on the curly willow right at the doorway serves as the “succulent perch” that inspired Cindy’s company name!
